I am because we are.
A registered South African foundation that moves resources to where need is, inside our borders and across them. Donors pay the people doing the work, directly. We hold nothing. We publish everything.
A generation from now, measured today.
2050 is the year Africa's next billion adults will have lived their whole lives inside whatever we build now. Every rand we move is tested against one question: will it still be standing then?
It is also the region's own deadline. SADC Vision 2050, adopted by Southern Africa's heads of state the year we registered, promises a peaceful, inclusive, middle- to high-income region where every citizen enjoys sustainable economic well-being, justice and freedom. The African Union's Agenda 2063 makes the same promise at continental scale. Governments wrote the plans. We are the people's part of them.
Dignity
Bought by Lighting Minds and Healing Hands: learning and care that reach the last kilometre.
Sufficiency
Bought by Shared Tables: households that grow, store and share their own food, and buy what they lack at collective prices.
Living Earth
Bought by Tending Earth: conservation that pays the people who keep it, from Eastern Cape wetlands to the Virunga Massif.
Ubuntu is a practice, not a proverb.
Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu: a person is a person through other people. We take that as an instruction. Where need stops at a border, we cross it with money, time and skill, and we account for every rand afterwards.
Listen first
The community names the need and the plan. We arrive with funding and partners, not assumptions.
Fund direct
Gifts move from donor to implementer through the implementer's own channels. We never touch the money.
Report in public
Every appeal closes with a report-back: what opened, what arrived, what it built.
Four fronts. One standard of care.
People live whole lives, so we fund whole communities.
Education & Youth
School materials, tutoring and mentorship for learners who lack them.
Health & Wellbeing
Screening drives and practical support for sick, elderly and caregiving families.
Hunger Relief
Feeding schemes and food parcels for households in crisis, run so that no one eats alone.
Environment & Animals
Clean-ups, food gardens and animal welfare work. The front that led us to Rwanda.
“Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu.”A person is a person through other people.
Red Rocks Rwanda is open for support.
Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development works with the farming communities around the Virunga volcanoes, where mountain gorillas live. For over a decade they have protected forest and wetland through schools, gardens and small business. This season we are raising support for them. Every rand goes to their own accounts. We hold none of it.
